Caceres and sunshine

Not such a long drive today. Salamanca to Caceres and with each kilometre under our wheels, the sky becomes bluer and the temperature rises.
Very cold when we went to bed last night and even colder when we rose this morning at Camping Regio, on the outskirts of Salamanca. It was on with the heater and off to the showers!!
Sue has had her first line of washing on the go, but it only dried this evening in the glorious warmth at our Aire here at Caceres.
We are in the midst of a very multinational camper community, in transit to and from Morocco. All the French are on their way home having over wintered there and the rest of us are grateful for the open spaces that they have left behind.
Tonight Sue is duty chef, and the meal smells great.
As this Aire is in the centre of a local park, there are children playing football, girls doing what girls do, when lads are about, older folk taking an evening promenade and us travellers supping wine, and watching the world go by.. Oh and today is Senior Citizens Day in Spain so there are scores of elderly people walking about wearing vivid blue neckerchiefs, boarding coaches and generally being shepherded from place to place by slightly younger supervisors. We two look positively youthful by comparison. Camper vans on the National Health!!
Today's picture is of our Dutch pals, who travelled from the Netherlands to meet us at Salamanca. They are a couple of wine supping ex hippies so we get on well!!
