Sorry we have been "dark" but the wifi has been a little problematic. But hey, we are now here in sunny Morocco with sea, sun and fresh fish on the doorstep.
Crossed from Algeciras to Tanger a couple of days ago and once again the dolphins failed to materialise in the Straits of Gibralter. We then drove straight to Assilah and a parking spot which we know, and spent the night with other travellers and camels while we tracked down a Pay as you go 3G sim from Maroc Telecom. We did a lot of walking up and down the streets, to such an extent that we became familiar to the locals, who may have thought that we were touting for business!!
Eventually, after being fleeced of a couple of pounds by a "jack the lad" who took us to an IT technician, who in turn sent us to a teleboutique to buy a SIM card, because the one we had was past it's sell by date, we finally are up and running.
A special town from our last visit beckoned, so we drove to the lagoon at Moulay Bousselem and are parked up a few metres from the waters edge. The fishing boats have just swept through the gap in the sand bar and the men are now busy selling their catch on the beach.
There are still plenty of French campers in Morocco, many of whom are coming to the end of their warm winter in the North African sun and are a few days from catching a ferry home, whereas we are only just starting our trip and have it all to look forward to.
